JJ – Chapter 36

Jian Ci stood there, wondering if it was just an illusion. All the infuriation and unhappiness that Zhou Bai showed had seemingly disappeared in an instant as his eyes filled with tenderness.

This was a relentless “announcement”, which could even be said to be quite embarrassing. When Jian Ci returned to reality, he did not show signs of rejection. He knew that it was to make up for his injustice and Zhou Bai was supporting him, and most importantly…

Zhou Bai looked extraordinary from this angle.

“O… Okay,” Jian Ci nodded foolishly.

Zhou Bai gradually loosened up and pursed his lips, concealing the surge in his heart.

In truth, he had plenty of experiences in kissing and his ex-wives had even boasted about his exquisite kissing skills, but none were as helpless as how he felt this time, as if everything was going in the wrong way. Ignoring the posture and losing the rhythm, all he did was to stare at the lips of the person before him stiffly, carelessly, and slowly lowering his head towards his lips.

Jian Ci was a good-for-nothing; sensing the approaching force, he intuitively backed off. With one leaning forward and the other moving back, this created a funny picture.

To the oblivious bystanders, this was just a scene of lovers flirting – “I’m going to kiss you”, “but I won’t let you kiss me” – and playing hard to get.

Zhou Bai was caught between laughter and tears. When he finally picked up his pace again, Zhou Bai placed a hand at the back of Jian Ci’s head, breaking his backwards movement. With the other hand on Jian Ci’s waist, Zhou Bai finally leaned in to kiss him.

Mm… The taste of juice, both sweet and sour.

Something gently swept across his palate, and Jian Ci tightened his grip on Zhou Bai’s shirt, crumpling it.

Aware of the presence of the other people at different corners of the garden, Jian Ci’s sense of shame and constraint were going against his bodily instincts, and it was indeed pretty agonising. He was self-conscious in the beginning but later, he gradually went out of control.

Zhou Bai was also immersed into his role, not expecting that sharing a kiss with Jian Ci would bring him such pleasure. The latter was compliant, and he was neither immature nor rampant; it was right up Zhou Bai’s alley. Momentarily, the intent of their kiss was forgotten.

Fortunately, a few seconds was not very long and he promptly gathered himself.

When they parted, Jian Ci’s flushed face looked as if blood was going to drip out from it, and he was even slightly breathless.

Zhou Bai gently wiped the corners of Jian Ci’s lips, before glancing around the small garden.

He wanted to tell them that the marriage was not to change the tides of feng shui, nor for prostituion, but rather, they had reached a consensus to be together. Perhaps the intention of getting “together” was not entirely pure but they were normal, legal, and impartial partners. They were not secretive, nor were they doing anything shameful.

There was no doubt that the kiss was just for show and not in the name of love, but this was their approach to it. Although it would not completely eliminate those malicious comments, they could show everyone that their marriage was not a child’s play.

They wanted to get married, to publicly display their affection, to care for each other, and no one had the right to interfere.

There were some who showed their tender smiles, and there were some who hurriedly left.

Shifting his gaze back at Jian Ci, Zhou Bai gave him a smile.
