The next day, a sober Zhou Bai returned to his original state.

He did not have a dinner party to attend, and Jian Ci did not have to work overtime. They sat down together for a simple dinner, and with tacit understanding between them, they did not bring up that awkward situation again. 

Jian Ci cut an orange after dinner, and he had a special way of preparing it. He first sliced off the two ends of the orange, making it look like a little wheel, before making a slit on one side and pulling the fruit apart, instantly separating them into slices¹. 

Juice dripped from his hands and face while he ate, and it was an unsightly mess. When he saw Zhou Bai looking at him, he offered Zhou Bai some. 

Zhou Bai did not like oranges; he hated the sourness of it. However, watching how Jian Ci ate with great delight, he reluctantly tried a piece. 

It was sweet, yummy.

“Are you feeling uncomfortable these days?” Zhou Bai suddenly asked.

Jian Ci shook his head, “Nope.”

Zhou Bai continued asking, “Did you encounter any unfortunate events? Or accidents?”

And Jian Ci continued shaking his head, “Nope.”

Zhou Bai was satisfied, “That’s great, then let’s prepare for our wedding ceremony, on the fifteenth of the following month.”

Splat ——

Jian Ci’s orange dropped onto the floor.
